One late-November Sunday was especially foggy. Even in the afternoon the sun couldn't penetrate the fog. It looked kind of eerie through the window, so I grabbed my camera and headed out in hopes of capturing something worthwhile. I drove to some nearby fields with a picturesque, tree-lined country road and started clicking away. I was surprised to see how many people were out walking despite the gloomy weather. The photos turned out great though! I was really more than happy when I downloaded them to my computer.
As usual, more photos here.

First or last?
This is not a post about this season's first snow - which, incidentally, fell in a negligible amount a couple of days ago. No, these are photos of the last snow in the past winter. It was late March, but the weather didn't care much.
Photos were taken around Lake Cerknica and Rakitna. More photos here.

Belgrade and St. Sava
Today I'm posting just a few pics from Belgrade. I was there in mid September, but just for a few hours, and apart from walking down the main street I really only got the see one of Belgrade's biggest attractions - the orthodox church of St. Sava, which happens to be the largest orthodox church in the world that is still in use. Its dome is 70 meters high!

Skiing in Mölltal
Just this past weekend I was lying on the beach, sunbathing and swimming in the sea, and two days later I spent one day skiing on the Mölltal glacier at about 3100 meters above sea level. Both places are within a three-hour drive from my home. :)
The main reason to go skiing was to test some skiing equipment. Despite the fickle weather and diffused light we managed to complete the test and were thrilled with the results.

Around Soriška planina
A few friends from the Kamnik photo club headed to the mountains to take some pics of the fall colors. First we hiked to the top of Lajnar above Soriška planina ski slopes.
There is a bunker at the summit.
The view towards the east.
After a glorious sunny morning the weather started to change and in a matter of minutes the sky towards the north was full of dark clouds.
Only a few minutes later the sun was gone and we could see that it was snowing in the distance.
A silhouetted hiker and a sea of fog.
When we reached the top of nearby Slatnik, the sky cleared again and we were rewarded with the spectacular view over the ski slopes.
It didn't last long though. Again, dark clouds rolled in. It's amazing how scenery is changed by the light.
After yet another fifteen or twenty minutes the sun was out again. Looking towards the north again we could see the bunker on top of Možic, our next destination.
The view towards the north.
Sunlit slope.
The end of a perfect trip, photographically speaking, was at Lake Bohinj.
I had no idea there were so many ruins (bunkers, trenches, even barracks that I didn't take pictures of) in this area. The hike was really rewarding and very scenic and I wish we had another car parked in Bohinj so we could continue towards Črna prst and descend to Lake Bohinj instead of returning to Soriška planina. Maybe another time. ;)
