Red and yellow fields

End of May is the time when I drive around Mengeš and Rodica searching for fields of clover. Their red color is so picturesque, and there are poppies growing there as well. Highly recommended for photography!

Snow and rain in Mengeš

The last couple of days were interesting again, weather-wise. After a warm period in which all snow had melted, it started to snow on Sunday. On Monday, the view from my window was the right winter color again - white. :))


After some heavy snowfall last night our street looked like this in the morning.

As the weather forecast said the snowing would turn to rain, I went for a walk around town.

I doubt the rugs and laundry will dry in this weather. :))

I continued along the path that leads along the creek ...

... to a field. The fog descended and it started to rain!

I hurried back, but I did manage to snap a few pictures of a junkyard on the way.



Do you see rain drops? By the time I got home I was completely wet. I really hope the weather doesn't get any warmer. I prefer snow to rain any day! ;)

Sunset fog

One late-November Sunday was especially foggy. Even in the afternoon the sun couldn't penetrate the fog. It looked kind of eerie through the window, so I grabbed my camera and headed out in hopes of capturing something worthwhile. I drove to some nearby fields with a picturesque, tree-lined country road and started clicking away. I was surprised to see how many people were out walking despite the gloomy weather. The photos turned out great though! I was really more than happy when I downloaded them to my computer.

Fields of clover

Spring photos in November? Why not? I took these in May on a field close to my home. The place was full of vibrant red/purple clover and poppies on one side of the track, and yellow wheat on the other, and combined with subtle late-afternoon light and puffy clouds it made for a perfect photo op.

Freakish sky

Last night the sky turned into an amazing combination of orange, pink and red. The light was eerie. The colors were really that intense. And no, I didn't have time to get out into the fields, I just snapped a few photos from my window before the show was over. :)

Frosty morning

One morning last week I looked out the window in the morning and saw a magical sight: everything was covered in frost and sun rays were fighting to penetrate the mists. I grabbed my camera and walked to the fields behind my apartment building. Ah, advantages of living in a small town! :))

Rainbow

The whole Slovenia was taking photos last night when after a long heat wave relief came in the form of dark clouds, rain storms and, finally, rainbows all over the place.
At first I didn't notice what was going on outside, but when I did look out the window, it left me speechless. The light was phenomenal, yellowish, then pink and orange. I was too late to go out and drive somewhere with a nice foreground, so I just took a few photos from my apartment window.
