Every spring it's amazingly picturesque on my favorite mountain, Velika planina. Carpets of crocuses turn the pastures purple everywhere you look. A week ago my friends Luka and Andrej hiked there in the afternoon to catch the late afternoon light hoping for a nice sunset too. After shooting like crazy for a few hours we concluded the day with a hearty meal at the Domžalski dom hut.
The spring has come, but there is still snow high in the mountains. The white Kamnik Alps provided a beautiful backdrop when hiking on the purple carpet of crocuses on Velika planina.
Is it obvious why I love returning to this place so much? :)
My first rollerblading trip took me from Zalog through the villages along the peaceful country roads below Mt. Krvavec to Cerklje and back to a nearby pond. The weather was great: sunny and warm, and I only wished there were puffy white clouds in the sky to make it even more picturesque. :) All in all, good exercise combined with some cool photos made for a great Friday afternoon.
I have to say this was a great beginning of the rollerblading season! :)
After a busy month of remodeling our living room and barely sweeping away all the dust that covered the whole house, I've spent this Sunday afternoon packing for my trip to the USA tomorrow. It's only three weeks, so don't get too excited. :) In the mean time, there are a few photos from May that I still haven't posted: a day in Piran, a beautiful town on the Adriatic coast, running from the rain and only partly succeeding. At least the sky was dramatic. :) But in the end we got totally soaked.
Not a city shooter at all, but I love wide angle photography as you probably noticed. :) Here are a few photos of Ljubljana, mostly at 10 mm.
OK, this one is not at 10 mm, but I thought I'd throw it in anyway. :) The "Slovenian plate" was a nice conclusion to the afternoon stroll around Ljubljana.
