Winter sunset

Those few days on Rogla were really spectacular. The temperature rose from -14 degrees on the first day (hence the white, snow-laden trees!) to -2 on the third and fourth days, so some of the romantic winter atmosphere was gone after the snow on the trees had melted, but if you looked in the shady places, it was just as much a fairy-tale as on the first day!

New Year's on the Rogla mountain was great! The company was excellent and the nature was beautiful! It was very cold when we went skiing on our first day there and everything was enveloped in snow. The scenery is so romantic when the trees are white. ;)

Sunset fog

One late-November Sunday was especially foggy. Even in the afternoon the sun couldn't penetrate the fog. It looked kind of eerie through the window, so I grabbed my camera and headed out in hopes of capturing something worthwhile. I drove to some nearby fields with a picturesque, tree-lined country road and started clicking away. I was surprised to see how many people were out walking despite the gloomy weather. The photos turned out great though! I was really more than happy when I downloaded them to my computer.

First or last?

This is not a post about this season's first snow - which, incidentally, fell in a negligible amount a couple of days ago. No, these are photos of the last snow in the past winter. It was late March, but the weather didn't care much.

Fields of clover

Spring photos in November? Why not? I took these in May on a field close to my home. The place was full of vibrant red/purple clover and poppies on one side of the track, and yellow wheat on the other, and combined with subtle late-afternoon light and puffy clouds it made for a perfect photo op.
