Mozirski gaj is a flower park in the small town of Mozirje and is a great place to just walk around and enjoy the views or diverse flower beds. There's nothing much to add here really, except that I enjoyed playing with the fisheye and worm's eye view.

Tulips in Mozirski gaj
Well, not just tulips :), but they were the most beautiful.

A tiny kitten
My brother rescued a tiny kitten after it had been abandoned by its mother. Instead of taking it to an animal shelter, he took the cute little cat home. He only got it yesterday and I just had to go to his house and snap a few photos. They are not very good because it was late and getting dark, but I'm sure there will be more piccies of this cutie here soon. :)

Colorful Punat coast
In the beginning of May I went on a short vacation to Island Krk where I stayed in the small town of Punat. The weather played a few tricks on me and the sun was only shining on my first day there, so I didn't get another opportunity to shoot the wonderful coastline in a better light. The following photos were taken too late in the morning when the light was already too harsh, but you get the picture - the color of the sea was spectacular nevertheless. I'm not upset though as I'm pretty sure I'll get another chance this summer to capture this fantastic stretch of the Croatian coast. :)

Sunrise in the fields
I'm not a morning person. Not at all. But the photographer in me knows that for great landscape photos you need great light, and that only comes early in the morning and late in the afternoon. So once in a while I kick myself out of bed well before dawn and go shoot some pictures.
The sunrise in early April was at about 6.30 a.m. and I made sure I didn't miss it. I was on the chosen location early enough to capture some mists that hung low above the ground before the sun rays dissipated them.
I visited a few different spots and actually saw the sun come up twice. I won't write any comments to the following photos - I think they say everything that needs to be said:

Climbing Lubnik Hill
It would be a shame to stay in on a warm mid-March Sunday afternoon. I had climbed virtually all hills in the area and searched the map for a new destination. And Lubnik Hill fit the bill. At 1025 meters above sea level it makes for an easy and short hike, but the views from the top and fantastic nevertheless.
At the beginning of the hike, looking towards the Karavanke range: Mt. Stol on the left and Košuta range on the right:
Crocuses in all their glory:
All sins allowed above 1000 meters ;)
The hut at the top of Lubnik was swarming with hikers:
Looking up:
The views from the top are fantastic:
Patterns:
One more fish-eye shot on the way down:
After returning to the car, I drove around the area for a bit until dusk:
Mt. Lubnik in the background:
And I couldn't possibly miss a good opportunity to shoot some night photos with the spectacular Kamnik Alps in the background glowing in the blue hour. The plane was a bonus. :))

As usual, there are more photos to be seen, for those of you who are interested.
